When I write an article, I learned a long time ago so that you can break up my essay into parts. The normal essay need to have an introduction, at least 3 body paragraphs, and a final result.
But when you are not used to this, even writing your introduction can seem like some sort of impossible task. That is the location where the SOAP method comes into play. This is an extremely helpful tool to help anyone needing to write some sort of essay. What the CLEANING method does, is break down your essay so that you can ascertain what your thesis is normally, because every essay requires a thesis. Once you have your thesis, the essay can be organized easily.
Think about the issue you are writing about. For example, shall we pretend I was talking about the benefits of ballroom dancing. Your subject would be the benefits of ballroom dancing.
What is the occasion that you will be writing about? Why are you writing the essay in the first place? If I use my last example, I would say that the occasion of my essay is to inform readers the health benefits of ballroom walking normally.
In my example, I am aiming to persuade readers to use dance to lose weight. That is this purpose.
Once you have these 5 things filled out, you have properly figured out your thesis. Along with your thesis, you can start writing ones essay. In my example, making use of this, I could do my introduction, and in the three body paragraphs I could explain two benefits of ballroom dancing and be able to write my conclusion. Really simple, right?
Who are you composing your essay to? Who do you want to read it? This plays a big part of a essay because if you don’t realize who you’re writing to help you, it will be pretty hard to come up with what to write. In my example of this, my audience is someone who is wondering how to shed weight, and also anyone who is keen on ballroom dancing. When you know who you are writing to help you, you can figure out what kind of tone to take with the essay.
What is the purpose of your article? Are you trying to persuade somebody, simply inform someone, or describing something? If you don’t realize the purpose of your essay, you can actually get confused and wasted.
